Erdogan who kicked off his visits to Middle East amid uprising at home against AKP's fascist policies was boycotted by Tunisia's major opposition power Popular Front today during his visit to Tunisia.
According to a report by "Evrensel", the leader and spokesman of Popular Front Hamma Hammami asked Popular Front supporters to gather for mass protests in front of the Turkish Embassy in capital city. He defined the aim of requested protests as "reminding Erdogan that he is the head of a repressive and reactionary government and is not wanted in Tunisia" and called all free Tunisians to support the Turkish people. Hammami stated that "they were invited to a dinner with Erdogan yet they declined the invite because they would not attend the feast of despots or plotters".
Hammami reacted to Tunisian government with his remarks "Intensive repression and interventions continuing in Turkey are proof of failure of Islamists who have continuously been shown as an example of 'democratic Islam' by the West."
